We are holding auditions for the heart warming new short film Simple Things
Simple Things is a 8-10 minute short film being shot in HD.

Auditions will be held at 6823 Station Hill Drive, Burnaby on Mar 11th 13th. Filming will take place from April 10th 11th.

SYNOPSIS
A light-hearted, feel-good story of a ‘50 something’ couple adjusting to life without children.

After nearly 35 years raising kids together, Phil and Karen suddenly ?nd themselves alone and stumped for conversation. Having spent most of their lives satisfying the needs of their kids, they have forgotten how to satisfy each other. Watch as they struggle and learn to live as a couple, yet again.


CHARACTERS

Karen Pipco (Female, Age 40-60)
Quiet, timid and not sure of herself. Karen grew up on an old farm built by her father and spent most of her youth babysitting her 8 siblings. Not soon after her 16th birthday, Karen fled the coop and found a place of her own in the city. After an accidental pregnancy at 18, Karen was forced to move back home and put her life on hold. On a trip back into the city to visit old friends, she found herself on a blind date with Phil and a few months later, they were married. After 35 years and three kids, Karen finally has a chance to start her life again.

Phil Pipco (Male, Age 40-60)
a hard worker, a guy’s guy, and a family man. Phil brings life to any situation and makes new friends wherever he goes. Having grown up in a small town, he was always in and out of trouble; fighting, drinking and playing hockey. Not long after his time in the Armed Forces, he pulled his life together and met his wife, married her two months later, and adopted her only child. Phil is an avid sport enthusiast, and enjoys a good steak with beer in a frosted mug! [enter
